Footbaw!
Finally, the long wait is over and real sports are back! No more boring baseball or unwatchable WNBA clogging up my HDTV. I can’t say I’m particularly optimistic about my Jaguars this year, but they have a chance. I just hope they get off to a good start and don’t suffer any serious injuries. As for my fantasy team, I am much more optimistic this year than usual. For one, I watched Joe Tall’s video on fantasy football drafting and thus had a better idea of what I was actually supposed to be doing. I actually participated in the draft this time too, instead of letting the computer auto-draft for me because I was off doing something else at the time. For your consideration, here is my team (in the order that I drafted them):
LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, San Diego*
Clinton Portis, RB, Washington*
Terrell Owens, WR, Buffalo*
Brandon Marshall, WR, Denver*
Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego*
Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina
Owen Daniels, TE, Houston*
DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia*
Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh
Donald Driver, WR, Green Bay
Philadelphia Defense/Special Teams*
Neil Rackers, K, Arizona*
Sammy Morris, RB, New England
John Carlson, TE, Seattle
Chicago Defense/Special Teams
Josh Scobee, K, Jacksonville
(* – week 1 starters)
Feel free to heckle my team, but I probably won’t be able to hear it behind my massive championship trophy or above the cheers of my adoring fans.
Sometimes there's a man... and I'm talking about the Dude, here. Sometimes there's a man who, well, he's the man for his time and place.

How many people are in your league? If you are in a league with 10 or more people you made out pretty damn well. If less, it doesn’t really matter much as everyone will have drafted well, since there are enough quality players to go around.
Good luck! Whack’em!

I have this hunch that Driver is going to kill this year. Aaron Rodgers should have a beast year. Your team looks pretty good. I also think LT is going to have a GREAT year. Will be interesting to see how my Bills do w/ TO.

never a fan of the RB + QB combo, every week depends on their performance, if their offense gets owned then u pretty much lost that week.

Yea I was a little wary of that myself, but Rivers was definitely the best QB available at that point in the 5th so I figured i’d take the risk. And worst case scenario I’ve got a pretty competent backup!

Definitely cut your backup K, TE, and DEF, and pick up the best RB/WRs that are available right now. You never need to draft backup TE/K/DEFs, it’s much better to just pick up someone for the one week that your starter has a bye and not have those guys tying up roster slots all year long.
Also don’t ever draft a K until the last round of the draft. There’s almost no difference in the total fantasy pts scored by the best kicker vs. the 10th best or 12th best (however many teams are in your league). So you lose a lot of value by wasting an earlier draft pick on a “premium” kicker.
Just some advice for next time, GL with your team this year!

Thanks mog dude, thats some good advice. Rackers did me right this past week, but I didn’t get much from my premium players and lost to my friend Matt (who won the Adrian Peterson lottery). My score left me 4th of 11 though, so I can’t be too disappointed with my boys. The Eagles defense especially, hoo boy.

Being a fairly avid fantasy player, I hate your first 4 picks, but like most all of your remaining picks though you should never have a backup K or TE imo
